Texas Career Clusters Project
Bringing together statewide Administrators, Faculty, Staff and Industry Professionals to identify common learning outcomes between secondary and post secondary courses to facilitate regional articulation. The project focuses on creating a vertical alignment process between high school and community college career and technical education courses.
Our vision is to create resume connectivity and continuity between secondary and postsecondary curriculum that promotes seamless transitions for students leaving high school, entering college and into the workforce.

Project #12014 - Funding Year 2011/12.Career orientation can be helpful for people at various stages of their lives, including high school and college students, recent graduates, and individuals who are looking to make a career change. It can also be beneficial for those who are unsure about their current career path and want to explore other options.
One important aspect of career orientation is self-assessment. This involves identifying one's interests, values, personality traits, and skills. Self-assessment tools can include personality tests, skills assessments, and interest inventories. These tools can provide insights into one's strengths and weaknesses and help individuals identify career paths that align with their interests and values.
Another important aspect of career orientation is researching different career paths and industries. This can involve gathering information about job duties, salary, work environment, and job outlook. It can also involve talking to people who work in the field, attending career fairs, and conducting informational interviews.
Once an individual has gained an understanding of their interests, skills, and career options, they can develop a plan for achieving their career goals. This can involve setting short-term and long-term goals, identifying the skills and education needed for the chosen career path, and developing a network of contacts in the industry.
Overall, career orientation is a valuable process that can help individuals make informed decisions about their future careers. By exploring their interests, skills, and values and gaining knowledge about different career paths, individuals can develop a plan to achieve their goals and find fulfillment in their work.
